3 Habits to Start Today

Here are 3 different habits that you can start TODAY that will help begin building your relationship with the Lord.
Choose whichever appeals to you the most and commit to doing it EVERY day for 30 days.

Scripture Writing

How to get started...

  • Print out this 30 Days of Finding Faith” Scripture Writing Joural
  • Commit to writing out the scripture and tell someone else you are doing it. (Remember, accountability is meant to encourage you, so don’t be afraid to ask some one to ASK YOU what you are writing about)

Why take the time to WRITE rather than just read scripture?

  1. You are forced to slow down and focus on the task at hand.
  2. Writing the verses down actual helps your brain recall them better later.
  3. Writing actually effects our brain in a positive way, encouraging our thinking, healing and language.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

How to get started...

  • Download & Print a Prayer Prompt Card that can give you some words to pray.
  • Fill it in with some personal details and put it somewhere you will see it every day.
  • Read it every day for 7 days.
  • On the back of the card, jot down how you notice God moving in some way so you can add your prayer in thanks and praise the next day!
  • REPEAT for 4 weeks with a new Prayer Prompt Card each week.

3 Commons Reasons We Struggle with Prayer:

  1. We don’t believe God is actually listening and, even if He is, it doesn’t actually change anything.
  2. We have too many things on our mind and get disctracted while we are praying.
  3. We have no idea what to say and feel stupid even trying.

Because of Jesus, we have direct access to God through our prayers. We can TALK to the creator of the universe!

Feeling doubtful?
I get it friend! It can be hard to pray when we don’t see God answering us the way we want or as fast as we want Him too, but PRAYER IS POWERFUL!

Bible Studies & Books

How to get started...

  • Choose a Guided Bible Study if you like having someone else lay out the lesson, provide scripture AND explain it can open your eyes to God’s Word in a way that you may not be able to do yourself.
  • Choose a Spiritual Growth Book if you need more flexability. Authors that offer a biblical perspective while sharing personal narratives are both convicting and encouraging.

Some of my FAVORITE Bible Study leaders and authors are:

  1. Priscilla Shirer (Going Beyond Ministries)
  2. Nancy Demoss (Revive Our Hearts)
  3. Francis Chan (Crazy Love)
  4. Gary Thomas (Sacred Series

(*I have no affiliation with any of these websites.)

You can always do a study or read a book alone, but I love finding a friend to go through them with me. Sharing insights, struggles and keeping each other accountable (there is that yucky word again) is worth its weight in gold.

So don’t be afraid to as a friend (or a few friends) to go through a study or book with you!

Be careful, friend!

Don't fall into the trap of just

As Christian women, we DO need to be challenged to a life of committed to drawing closer to God, BUT that challenge needs to be based on the Gospel of grace. Duty or guilt may motivate us for awhile, but only a sense of Christ’s love for us will motivate us to experience TRUE CHANGE.
